III VariaR International Seminar
Teaching Portuguese around the world
In view of the interlocution of researchers that the fruitful articulation of linguistic research projects/interactions requires, we are planning the third seminar on 11 October 2023 (4am-7pm, Brasilia time), in partnership with researcher Patricia Vanessa de Ramos (University of Augsburg), organised in a hybrid format (online speakers and an audience of teachers and students from the University of Augsburg in person). The purpose of this space is to bring together researcher-speakers, researchers and teachers interested in the conferences around questions that serve as a starting point for approaching the seminar's central theme - Portuguese teaching in the world:
Teaching Portuguese inside and outside Brazil:
What are the characteristics of teaching in the community/country in which you work?
What training programmes are involved in teaching Portuguese?
What is the profile of the students/teachers?
What is the basic concept of grammar/variation? What variety is taught? How is variation dealt with in the classroom? With what content/materials/corpora?
What are the new challenges for teaching Portuguese, bearing in mind, among other things, the relationship between technology, society, diplomacy and transculturality?
What image of Portuguese do you deal with?
What official documents are there to guide the teaching of mother tongue or non-mother tongue Portuguese?
What place is there for text and discourse as objects (of dynamic configuration) to be privileged in the Portuguese classroom?
What bridges have been built between research, teaching and/or activism in society?
Date: 11 October 2023
